Engagement with MP Phil Twyford

Collaboration is the key that opens doors. As part of our commitment and initiative to continue to engage with the wider Kiwi society, our President Mr Raj Maharjan held a hui with MP for Te Atatu, Phil Twyford at his electoral office in Henderson. While small businesses was the key topic, the meeting also discussed on the following important topics: - immigration - employment - workplace matters - Henderson Town Centre MP Twyford keenly asked about the Nepali community, and listened to their success stories with enthusiasm. In the meantime, MP Twyford shared his story of backpacking in Nepal in the 80s as well as his and his family’s special connection with Kathmandu and the Himalayas. Te Atatu electorate is home to hundreds of Nepali residents. It is one of the parts of Auckland where a large number of Nepali families are moving in to make it their place to settle and to grow their families. We sincerely thank MP Twyford and Henderson-Massey Local Board member Dan Collins for making us feel welcome at the electoral office, and taking time off their busy schedule to meet with us.
